Children's Department

This year’s Summer Reading Program (SRP) theme is “Tails & Tales”.  SRP starts Monday, June 21st and ends on July 23rdth, (5 weeks).

 Due to Covid-19 conditions, class times are restricted to 3 groups of 5 to 10 people each time slot and reservations are required. Social distancing and Covid guidelines will be followed.  Class times run 1 hr. and 15 minutes as follows, Tuesday 1:00 to 2:15 and 3:00 to 4:15, Thursday: 9:30 to 10:45 and 1:00 to 2:15. A special class will be held for toddlers and babies on Monday: 1:00 to 1:30. In addition to our reading contest, weekly prizes will be given out.


Parents and children not wishing to attend class times can still participate in the fun of the  Summer Reading Program by coming in and checking out books on their own. Reading logs, take home crafts, and prizes will be offered. 


The Lake County Library System has a subscription to TumbleBookLibrary and your families can access it from home! It’s unlimited and Its FREE for you to use from home.

TumbleBookLibrary is an online collection of e-books for children. There are over 250 animated, talking picture books! The site also features Spanish and French books, read-along chapter books, graphic novels, non-fiction books, videos, and games & puzzles.

Visit, look under the databases tab and enter your LCLS library card number to log on. Use your computer, tablet, or mobile phone with an internet connection. You can also download the TumbleBookLibrary app onto your device. Click on Library, then enter USA, Florida, Lake County Library System, & your library card number. is free while using computers at one of our 16 public libraries.  You'll have free access to books, music and songs, games, puzzles, art activities and even an interactive zoo.
